The first Graduation Ceremony of the School of Data Science (SDSC) was held on 4 February. Instead of gathering at our ceremony hall, our 85 graduates received their degrees and celebrated their achievement socially distanced at home through the online ceremony.

“You will forever be the first-class graduates from the School of Data Science.’ Cheered by Professor Joe Qin, Dean of SDSC.

Although our graduates experienced disruptions in this unprecedented time, all of them were able to complete their student with determinations. Uncertainties surround every aspects of our lives. Professor Qin encouraged our graduates to be flexible in our changing world. ‘Change is the only constant in life. It’s the only thing we can predict correctly.’ Professor Qin advised our graduate to stay positive during challenging times, maintain resiliency for achieving lifetime goals, and to offer help to others in need.

The 85 graduates received recognition for their study in SDSC’s Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, and Master of Science in Data Science programmes.
