The School of Data Science receives donation-in-kind from Mr Wilson Chong

The School of Data Science received donation-in-kind of two sets of infrared thermometers and face shields from Mr Wilson Chong, the Chairman of IoT HK Association (IOTHK) as well as an alumnus of City University of Hong Kong.

Prof S. Joe Qin, Chair Professor of Data Science and Dean of School of Data Science, thanked Mr Chong for his generous donation. “Mr Chong’s donation means a lot to the School. To a certain extent, it represents both the public and the industry are getting to know more about data science and the School. We are eager to collaborate with IOTHK in the fields of student enrichment and research outreaching activities.”

Mr Wilson Chong has been in collaboration with Dr Zijun Zhang, Associate Professor of School of Data Science, on the systems engineering for years. Mr Chong said, “Our daily life involves a bunch of data. Undoubtedly, big data, data science and data analytics are prevailing disciplines in Hong Kong, even in the mainland. We would like to connect with the School of Data Science so as to explore more collaboration opportunities, which can make the best use of data for a better living.”

Mr Chong had a meeting with Dr Zijun Zhang and Dr Qingpeng Zhang, Associate Professor of School of Data Science to further discuss and explore the collaboration opportunities between IOTHK and the School of Data Science.
